What Does a LOLER Inspection for a Passenger Lift Involve?
Our LOLER Inspections for passenger lifts are detailed, methodical, and fully in line with HSE requirements. We assess all major safety-critical components, including the lift car, shaft, guide rails, doors, emergency communication systems, and braking mechanisms. Particular attention is given to the structural integrity of load-bearing parts, counterweight systems, and any electrical or mechanical elements that could pose a hazard.
We also inspect the top of the lift car and pit area where accessible, ensuring proper maintenance of safety gear, overspeed governors, and buffers. Once the inspection is complete, you will receive a Report of Thorough Examination, also known as a LOLER certificate, detailing the lift’s condition, compliance status, and any actions required to maintain safety.

Yes. Any lift used to carry people falls under the LOLER regulations. By law, all passenger lifts must be thoroughly examined every 6 months by a competent person, regardless of usage frequency or building type.
